Working with Email
Catch-All Email Issues In the prior Digital Space system, a small number of customers were using Catch-All mailboxes to receive email for multiple email addresses into one mailbox. Catch-All mailboxes are not recommended as they catch not only mail to the addresses that you wish to receive, but also spam mail and bogus messages sent to any non-existant email address at your domain. The new Digital Space control panel allows you to easily create email aliases that forward to your existing mailbox that will allow you to receive messages to addresses that you had previously used under the Catch-All without receiving all of the spam and unwanted email. To add these email aliases, first log in at https://my.digitalspace.net, then click the My Products tab at the top of the screen. If you see a list of your accounts, click the hosting account in question. Now, select the "Log in to your Control Panel" button in the top right corner of the screen to bring up your new Plesk-based Control Panel for your account. Once inside the Control Panel, click on the "Home" button on the left side of the screen to view all of the available account management sections for your hosting account, then click "Mail" under the "Services" group. From the Mail screen, click on the mail name at the bottom that corresponds with the username that you have specified in your email client. For example, if you have specified the username "exampleco" in your email client as the mailbox to check, you would click on the "exampleco@example.com" mail name at the bottom of the Mail screen. Once you are viewing the details of your email username, just click "Add New Alias" at the top of the screen. This will allow you to specify other email addresses that should deliver to this mailbox. Enter the alias you would like to create; for example, if you previously used the Catch-All to receive email sent to info@yoursitedomain.com, you would enter "info" as the alias name. Click OK to save the setting, then add another email alias if needed. Mail sent to these aliases will be delivered to your email program as expected, and mail sent to other addresses (such as spam and bogus email) will be bounced back to the sender instead of being delivered to your mailbox. If you have questions about the previous Catch-All setup or adding these email aliases, please feel free to contact our support team. |
